Although without the Angel rooms you can still kill Satan, his true form is still safe if you succumb to the temptation of power. If you take a devil deal item, the Angel room will not appear to give you the chance to get the key pieces.

The best Repentance items fundamentally change how a player gets through a run, like opening new explorable areas or granting an extremely powerful new ability. Reddit user u/HandsomeClaptrap states that Satan uses Devil deals to ensure that Isaac cannot reach him. When it comes to Repentance new items, there are still combos that fans are figuring out months after the DLC was released.

Items like Quints, which create hordes of followers, can be easily broken in The Binding of Isaac's alternate Greed Mode while being not so useful in a normal run. Updated Augby Erik Petrovich: Part of what makes The Binding of Isaac: Repentance so replayable is the completely unique items that the new DLC gives players.

Edmund McMillen, the creator of the game, even said that the new meta's difficulty is meant to force fans to try new methods of completing runs. While some fans claim the new expansion is much more difficult than Afterbirth or Afterbirth+, there are many new items that either flat out break the game or combine well with just about anything. Especially since the Lost can reroll the key piece now.The Binding Of Isaac: Repentance is the third and final expansion for the Binding of Isaac series. The sole exceptions being Keeper and Lost of course, but honestly, I've been getting pretty mediocre items with those two as well, so I'm actually considering going Angel with them too. On their own Devil Deals vs Angel Rooms is already more weighted towards Angel Rooms with better general items, room layouts and ♥♥♥♥ like Krampus existing, but all of the aforementioned mechanics make them an even clearer winner for most characters. They are meant to be reward, but unless you get Soul Heart screwed, you rarely ever ♥♥♥♥ up your Devil Deal chances.Īlso, another thing to mention is that Angel Rooms and having more health results in more Devil Beggars plays or safer Boss Challenge Room attempts (as you can recover red health more easily, like the Sun) for items, Confessionaries for soul hearts, and Sacrifice Rooms for both, which all snowball into even more items.

I kinda wish instead of nerfing Devil Deals they had just made them harder to get somehow.
